About Us
On average nearly 100 dogs and cats are euthanized each week in the Upper Snake River Valley. That is where the idea was formed to create an animal shelter that would not only provide a safe place for the animals but also allow for the community to be involved in animal welfare.
The Snake River Animal Shelter (SRAS) was formed in June of 2006. By April 2008, the Idaho Falls City Council had approved a 12-acre piece of land for the SRAS. Now that the land has been approved, it's time to join together and raise the $2.5 million needed to finish the project.
