Shelter Blog
Growing up, CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Kuralt was one of my favorite shows. It still is; and yesterday morning Bill Geist's story epitomizes what Snake River Animal Shelter is all about. It's a great story about his new friend, "Daphne." I wanted to share with all of you. Hopefully the link works. The part about everyone in the dog park knowing the dog names but not the "parent" names is so true. That was evident at Bark in the Park Saturday. I even caught myself asking the dogs name before I introduced myself or got the owner's name. Nothing to worry about, I think Dog people understand that. Here's the funny thing and you might be able to relate. Sometimes, when I am running with Max, I'll see a dog in a truck and I catch myself waving at the dog, not the driver. I'm completely embarrassed after I do it but It makes me laugh every time I think about it. I bet lots of you do it too!!
Hi Everyone,
This Saturday, September 19th is the 2nd Annual Mutt Strut and the Bark in the Park that will benefit the Snake River Animal Shelter. So far we have 49 Mutt Strut walkers/runners but we want lots more. So if you have a dog, bring him out for a walk with friends. Bark in the Park will have lots of fun booths and contests for pet owners and their pets. I personally can't wait for the kissing contest. We had some really good puppy smoochers last year! This year is sure to be just as fun and just as funny! Plus, we'll be announcing our new dog and cat mascots as Molly's reign is coming to an end. Hope to see ya'll there!
