Volunteering Program

Welcome Volunteers!!

The staff here at the Snake River Animal Shelter would like to start welcoming in all the volunteers we can get. Once we have opened to the public and start taking in animals our limited staff is going to need as much help as we can get. As this is just the beginning of our new non-fundraising volunteer program, it is going to be a work in progress. The following will give you a good idea of what kind of volunteering work we will need over the next couple months.

Animal Care:  shift starts at 8:30 a.m. -12 p.m. Everyday (including Holidays!!)

Job Duties: Rotating animals in/out of kennels to fenced pens, Cleaning/disinfecting kennels, feeding, laundry, etc etc etc!!

Office Staff:  during meetings

Job Duties: Greeting customers, Answering Phones, taking messages, helping customers understand our process, Paper work, Computer work, etc etc

Doggie/Kitty Life Enrichment Program: 12p.m. -5:30 p.m. Everyday

Job Duties: Obviously this is the best job ever! Walks next to river, Playtime, cuddling, all the joys of owning a pet, but you are required to return this one.

All of our shift times are flexible! We will accept any help we can get, for however long we can get it.

Volunteer Requirements:

We are still currently working on the exact requirements that we expect from our volunteers. The only restriction we are going to place on volunteers to start out with is an age restriction. Any potential volunteers under the age of 15 will have to co-volunteer with a parent or guardian. This restriction can be negotiable, but the final decision rest in the hands of the Manager. Finally no volunteers will be allowed to work until they have filled out and signed our waiver.
